cleanLASER further expands laser cleaning applications
IPG Photonics Corporation (NASDAQ: IPGP), Marlborough / Massachussets, USA, has signed an agreement to acquire the shares of Clean-Lasersysteme GmbH. Subject to the fulfillment of customary closing conditions, including regulatory approval, the transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Edwin Büchter (photo) will continue to manage cleanLASER as Managing Director. “It was important for us to find a competent strategic investor and technology partner with whom we can jointly take laser cleaning technology to a new level in the medium and long term,” says Edwin Büchter. “We share a common technology-driven strategy as well as a passion for laser technology and its diverse areas of application. We see great potential in the highly efficient IPG fiber lasers.”
The laser beam sources for the cleaning applications are primarily manufactured by IPG‘s German subsidiary IPG Laser GmbH & Co. KG in Burbach, Germany.
IPG will acquire all shares in Clean-Lasersysteme GmbH. “As a supplier to cleanLASER for nearly 25 years, we know this company well. We are excited about the talent and expertise of the employees in Herzogenrath” explains Dr. Mark Gitin, Chief Executive Officer of IPG Photonics. “We believe our combined cleaning application know-how, complementary market exposure, and product and technology synergies will create value for customers”.
