Cleaning with light – IPG | cleanLASER offers laser beam technology for industrial surface treatment

The bundled light of the laser systems removes dirt and cover layers from industrial and historical surfaces without contact. No cleaning media or abrasives are required. The laser process is therefore particularly material- and environment-friendly as well as cost-saving.

IPG | cleanLASER develops, produces and implements laser systems ranging from the small 20 Watt “backpack laser” to the 1,000 Watt high-power laser.

Due to the long optical fibers and the highly developed processing optics, the lasers can be used flexibly and precisely – hand-guided, automated or as complete processing stations.

clean technology – green technology

cleanLASER clean surfaces free of abrasives and harmful substances. Energy consumption is up to eight times lower than with conventional processes.

Cleaning with light – Clean laser processes conserve materials and resources

cleanLASER remove dirt and coatings from industrial and historical surfaces with the aid of bundled light. This saves large amounts of chemicals and other production aids. Operating costs can be reduced by over 80% compared to other processes.

Conventional cleaning methods generate a lot of waste. The smallest quantities of particles produced by laser technology can be completely collected and disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.

In industrial applications, it is no longer necessary to clean the entire component, but only the area required for the process, since laser beam cleaning is extremely precise. The technology can be easily integrated into the manufacturing process, reducing transport costs and routes to external cleaning systems.

German Environmental Award 2010

Cleaning with Light – Federal Foundation awards media-free laser process prize

The Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU) has awarded the managing partners of Clean-Lasersysteme GmbH with the German Environmental Award 2010.

Federal President Christian Wulff presented this year’s Environmental Award to the entrepreneur duo of Clean-Lasersysteme GmbH, to Dr. Rainer Grießhammer of the Öko-Institut, Freiburg, and to Honorary Laureate Michail Gorbatschow at a ceremony in Bremen on October 31.

Dr. Winfried Barkhausen and Edwin Büchter will reinvest the DBU‘s prize money of 245,000 euros in sustainable projects. A solar system for the company building has already been ordered and will cover a large part of the company’s own energy requirements. In this way, laser light can be obtained from sunlight. In addition, the purchase of the neighboring building plot is planned in order to be able to continue growing and creating new jobs in the future.
